Mai Chau has a population of about 47,500 inhabitants that belong to different ethnic minority groups such as the White Thai, H'mong, Zao, Muong, Tay, Hoa and Viet. The Mai Chau hill tribes are warm and welcoming, and famous for their handicrafts - in particular for their skills in embroidering clothes.  Mai Chau offers a most splendid vista of the Valley which is surrounded by lush greens and stilt houses inhabited mainly by the White Thai ethnic group. Afternoon warm-up with short tour in and around Mai Chau Valley. Dinner in the Lodge Terrace Restaurant Day 2: Design Your Day Today is full of activities of your choice: walk, long trek or kayaking on the Hoa Binh reservoir or cycling with picnic lunch and dinner included. Over night in the homestay with local rice wine to add up the flavour of the day Day 3: Mai Chau - Hanoi Complete the circle of the tour heading back to Mai Chau Lodge where lunch is served. Drive back to Hanoi in the afternoon   Option 2: Trek & Homestay Day 1: Hanoi - Mai Chau - Xo Village Depart Hanoi in the morning. Arrive in Pom Coong after 4 hour drive. Touring the village of White Thai people. Proceeding to Xo village and homestay with a local family. Day 2: Xo - Buoc - Van Village Spend a day walking through rice paddies, village trails to Van village. Dinner and overnight in the homestay with local rice wine to add up the flavour of the day Day 3: Mai Chau - Hanoi Complete the tour with a light trek until reaching to Van Mai village where picnic lunch is served.
